The Story
Pegos Claros Reserva is from the heart of Palmela in Portugal. It is made from Castelão vines that have an average age of 70 years old and were crushed by foot in the traditional way. This crushing is one of the highlights of the year in the winery as staff and visitors enjoy a process that is thousands of years old. The wine is aged in barrel for a year to give it structure and depth. It’s the perfect pairing for roast lamb, an aged cheddar or a slow Sunday lunch. A brilliant example of one of Portugal’s many hidden gems.
